Set the new standard for marketing and operational decision-making with us.
SearchLight exists to bring rigor, trust, and intelligence to how businesses measure performance and make decisions, replacing fragmented signals with a system leaders can rely on.

Built by dot-connectors who think in systems.
The people who thrive at SearchLight are dot-connectors, comfortable holding complexity, reasoning across first-, second-, and third-order effects, and bringing structure to messy problems.
They take initiative, attempt to solve challenges independently, and stay curious when the path forward isn’t obvious. They aren’t intimidated by ambiguity or pace, and they bring an affinity for data, rigor, and clear thinking to everything they do.
Above all, they’re motivated to grow, contribute to a larger vision, elevate others, and help build something enduring.
Who We Are
SearchLight was built to address a growing and frustrating reality: local service businesses are making substantial marketing and operational investments without clear, trustworthy insight into what actually works.
As technology and channel options rapidly evolve, transparency has not kept pace. Data is fragmented, attribution is inconsistent, and decision-makers are often left defending choices without confidence in the underlying numbers.
We exist to change that. SearchLight brings rigor, structure, and intelligence to how performance is measured so leaders can make decisions grounded in reality, not assumptions.
Built by experienced operators and system thinkers
Our team brings deep experience from organizations where data integrity, scale, and accountability are non-negotiable. Many of us come from companies like Dealer.com, Cox Automotive, AutoTrader, and Kelley Blue Book. Environments that shaped how we think about measurement, trust, and decision-making at scale.
We’re also supported by strong academic foundations, with team members educated at institutions including MIT, UC Berkeley, Middlebury, University of Vermont, UC-Boulder, and Stanford. Together, this blend of practical operating experience and analytical rigor informs how we build and how we work.
Our Principles
Trust is earned through attention to detail
Trust isn’t granted by claims or credentials, it’s earned through precision. We believe small inconsistencies compound into broken decisions, so we obsess over details others might overlook. Clean data, clear definitions, and disciplined execution are non-negotiable, because trust is built one detail at a time.
Good decisions come from owning client outcomes
Trust isn’t granted by claims or credentials, it’s earned through precision. We believe small inconsistencies compound into broken decisions, so we obsess over details others might overlook. Clean data, clear definitions, and disciplined execution are non-negotiable, because trust is built one detail at a time.
Standards create alignment and accountability
We believe standards matter because, in complex and expensive marketing ecosystems, ambiguity erodes trust. Without shared definitions and consistent measurement, investments are easily misunderstood or misrepresented.
Standards create alignment across fragmented tech stacks and teams, making performance comparable, decisions defensible, and outcomes accountable.
We stay calm, think clearly, and communicate with intent
In the face of ambiguity, we don’t panic or react impulsively. We pause, assess the situation, think through the problem, and attempt to solve it or propose a thoughtful path forward.
When broader context is needed, we communicate clearly and concisely, explaining what’s happening, why it matters, and what we recommend next. Sound judgment and disciplined communication are core expectations.
What Sets Us Apart
How we work and what we expect
Ownership over optics
We care far more about outcomes than appearances. Flexibility at SearchLight is earned through responsibility. We trust people to manage their time, but we expect clear progress, reliable delivery, and follow-through. Autonomy and accountability go hand in hand.
Clarity is a work in progress and a shared responsibility
We’re building toward greater clarity in how we work, including when and how we collaborate in person. We won’t pretend everything is perfectly defined, but we expect teammates to engage constructively, raise issues early, and help shape the standards we’ll scale with.
Everyone is an owner
Every SearchLight employee receives equity because we believe ownership changes how people think. Decisions are made with long-term impact in mind, and we expect teammates to act like builders, not renters.
What We Offer
We expect a lot from our team and we believe strong performance deserves strong support. At SearchLight, we aim to create an environment where people can do their best work while building meaningful, long-term careers.
Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision)
Retirement support with generous 401(k) matching
Equity for every employee
Flexible time off with unlimited PTO, taken responsibly
Hybrid work environment: a mix of remote and in-office, with flexibility based on what helps you do your best work
Career growth and learning support, including frequent internal promotions and compensation growth that exceeds standard cost-of-living adjustments
As a bootstrapped company, we’re thoughtful about how we invest, but we’re committed to motivating, developing, and retaining great people for the long term.
